Reading the 1 3/8" Stretch Nylon Belt

Part 01

It stretches, so it moves with you

The weave has elastic through it. Sit down after a large lunch and the belt gives instead of digging in. This is the practical difference between a stretch web belt and a leather one with fixed holes.

Part 02

Quick release, not a prong

The buckle locks with a lever rather than a pin through a hole. There is no half-size problem, because there are no holes to land between.

Part 03

Mesh weave

Open weave nylon dries faster than leather and does not hold a sweat line. GEIT points it at golf, hiking and fishing as much as at office trousers.

The narrow one exists because an inch and a half does not go through every belt loop.

Picking the right one

Sizes are sold by waist range. If you are on the boundary between two ranges, GEIT says to take the larger one.

  • Measure a belt you already wear, buckle pin to the hole you use.
  • On a boundary between two ranges, take the larger.
  • Check the loops on dress trousers before you order the wider version.
